Happy New Year!

To all of the newly engaged couples out there, we are offering a 10% off any of our planning services through 1/20/2011, a very special day for me!

So excited for this season, a couple of good friends have gotten engaged in the last couple of days!  Hope everyone has a fabulous NEW YEAR!

Real Wedding: Elizabeth + Paul

So happy to share images of this wedding at the Long Beach Aquarium of Elizabeth + Paul.  This one was definitely a special one because the groom had a very special surprise for his lovely bride.  We would meet and when she would get up for reason a or b, he would update me on his surprise.  It was exciting!

First look!  I always love these shots and the expressions they make when they first see each other!

It’s a big whale!  We had a whole 2 hours to transform this venue after it closed…talk about time crunch!

Here’s the big surprise.  Paul had rented a baby grand piano and got Matt Giraud to come and perform!  Even Paul sang for her!  Seriously, this guy loves his girl and he wasn’t afraid to show it!

I hear Mrs. Liz is now expecting!  Congratulations to you both!  Can’t wait to see that baby bump!

Wax Paper Poms

Everyone out there knows about the infamous tissue paper, but have you seen wax paper poms?  I think they’re gorgeous!   They have this softer look about them…
What do you think?
This is all you need:
  • Waxed Paper
  • Scissors
  • Covered Floral Wire or flexible metal wire

You can use them so many ways!  For decor at home, weddings, and gifts.  Christmas is just right around the corner!

The process is pretty much the same as making tissue paper poms but if you’ve forgotten how to, head on over to the Nice Package Blog!

Happy Weekend!

Wish Upon a Wedding!

The So Cal gala for Wish Upon a Wedding was last Thursday and the planning committee did an amazing job!  Kudos to them for coordinating such a successful event!  I’m part of the volunteer board and am super proud to be part of this organization.  Not only is this charity part of the industry I love, but we’re doing it for a great cause.  Any terminally ill diseases sit close to my heart because my mom passed away after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.  If I could’ve given my mom anything and everything she wanted before she left, you bet your little hearts I would’ve bent over backwards for her.

I’m also really proud of Lydia of Ever-Ours!  She got recognized with a Shining Star Award along with Angel Monico of Fusion Linens and Youngsong Martin of Wildflower Linens.  Here’s some silliness from SoCal Photobooth:

Can’t wait to see more pictures!  There are so many ways to help out this organization!  Check it out HERE and do something!

Ideas + Inspiration

I’m puppy sitting this adorable thing and because she’s still a baby I have to sleep on the couch with her.   Not so happy about the couch but her puppy smell – I just want to eat her up!

This takes me to two awesome things I’ve ran through while on the internets:
  1. If you’re not afraid to have your face etched on a stamp and use it for invites, STDs, etc., this is a great idea!  This Esty seller gets a picture of you two like so:

and does this!

Cool huh?
     2.  While browsing How About Orange, I read about glass etching.  So easy and you can practically
          sketch anything!
You really must go look!  Looks like an easy DIY project that you can use to personalize your wedding just a tad bit more.

Happy first day of November!  Time is flying by & Christmas is just around the corner!

Happy Friday!

This image makes us so happy!  We helped these two beautiful girls tie the knot last month and we can’t wait to see more!

Oh yeah and have a safe and happy Halloween this weekend!

Vendor Love: Shade Tree Films!

We wouldn’t love something if it wasn’t good and boy…are Chad and Drew from Shade Tree Films goooood!

Take a look at the same day edit they created for the Jean + Jay a couple of weeks ago, but before you do, go grab your nearest box of tissues or even that paper towel roll…

Told ya to get something for those tears.  These guys are pretty amazing and they finished all this on the day OF.  I know videography nowadays is considered more of a splurge but if  you’re going to do it, you better to it right!  They… are right!  🙂
