Papilio ♥ !

My taste is incredibly varied when it comes to wedding gowns. I love simple, clean lines just as much as I do tulle, lace, and ruffles. I really don’t know how women do it – chose ONE from thousands of gorgeous gown possibilities!

Right now I’m loving romantic, feminine, flowing gowns. I recently came across Papilio, a Russian bridal wear company that I am now completely infatuated with. Their gowns seem to be rather hard to find in the U.S., but there are a few select salons that carry them.

These gowns are just so darn beautiful that I can’t even choose a favorite!

Inspiration Board – Spring

One of our couples is celebrating the coming of Spring in their April wedding with this palette.

Dawn

Definitely a vintage feel but I love the colors and it makes me so happy to know that Summer is coming!  I’m sooo loving these L.A. temps right now!

Inspiration Board – Seaside Baby

I’m working on a baby shower with a seashell & pearl theme…a little beachy, but nothing cheesy! While we’re still brainstorming, there are a few ideas that I’m sure we’re going to be incorporating. The event is taking place in spring, so there will be plenty of sunshine…perfect excuse to make fabric banners, tissue paper poms and cardboard fans. It will definitely be a very crafty event! A couple of other musts are a candy buffet to curb the cravings of our mommy-to-be and a beautiful 3 tier cake with candy starfish, shells & pearls. For the color palette, we’re thinking either the coral & light turquoise combination you see on the tablescape or a more vintage looking palette of light pink, peach, mint green & ivory.
Enjoy!

Happy Friday!

Remember these?  I’ve put a couple up from the trash the dress session I had with Shannon previously but I just got the CD this week!  Overall, this week has been pretty busy and amazing.  This Sunday we’ll be at Backstage Bridal so go purchase your ticket if you haven’t already!

Looking forward to next week!  Have a happy weekend ya’ll!

Hello Marchesa!

Last Thursday, R-mine Bridal in Studio City had a debut of the Marchesa collection in their store.  Lots of the dresses had tulle incorporated, which I actually really liked!

Here are a couple of pics courtesy of our fabu Cakes and Kisses!

That one up there had flowers and tulle OVER it.   Never seen that before, I LIKE!

I finally got to meet The Frostings from Fantasy Frostings and catch up with Harmony from Bridal Bar, Katy from Katy Carrier Events and Lydia from Ever Ours.

Fun night!  Thanks to Armine of R-mine!

Theme on Etsy: Steampunk Wedding!

There’s this hard, vintage gooey-ness about steampunk, dontcha think?  Steampunk is a mix of industrial and victorian.

Steampunk inspired:

I wanted to see if Etsy had steampunk inspired items and they of course, delivered!

Garters?  Check!

Cake Toppers?  How cute are these?

Cuffs?  Heck yeah!

Via Moda Designs

There’s not that many items because steampunk isn’t mainstream at all!  BUT, can you imagine a wedding with a soft industrial, romantic, victorian feel?  Oh and to top it off I’d totally incorporate some cotton deco like Lauryl Lane  did with one of her recent weddings!  You MUST go check out what she did!  She’s amazing!

So am I way off for liking this?  It’s not fluffy and pink but it’s still rock-ishly romantic!

Succ-u-lents !

Lately I have been completely obsessed with succulents. They’re soooo beautiful, versatile, and come in great colors & textures. I’ve compiled a few images showing really great incorporation of these beauties into bouquets, centerpieces, tablescapes and more. Enjoy!

Just take a look at this bouquet with an absolutely beautiful assortment of succulents.

Boxes of tightly grouped succulents like this one from 5th and State make great centerpieces.

I can’t even wrap my head around the awesomeness of this wall installation by Flora Grubb Gardens! Is it art or a floral arrangement? I say both and then some.

They even offer tips on preparing stem-less succulents for use in bouquets & arrangements! I’m definitely going to the Flower Mart this weekend to try this out!
