Finding Yourself.

Personal/ business post.

So, we’re in the process of re-branding and giving the site a whole new look!  It’s a bit overwhelming to have to decide on an image that you think conveys what we’re about but we’re THISCLOSE!  I can’t wait to be able to show it off.  I love pink and green but I think I got carried away the first time around!  Heh…

Going to Making Things Happen with Lara Casey reminded me of my 7th grade math teacher Mr. Green who always went off on tangents about lemmings.  Don’t be a lemming.  Be yourself, be unique.  Not only is this what it’s about in general in life but it’s a major point in business.  What do you offer that other people don’t?

Looking within myself and the awesome couples I’ve had the privilege to work with, I’ve decided to take on a new little side project with Stacey Steffe of Better than Naked.  I’ve known her for a couple of years and feel so honored that she came up to me for advice and basically a proposition!  We’re going to be holding a series of small events that will eventually lead to something bigger.  Happy to say we’re making things happen!

This is who we’re NOT!

Hah!  So keep an eye later today yo!

MIlk Glass Love

Ever since I found my super secret thrift shop near home, I’ve fallen in love with milk glass.  As a matter of fact, my small collection was used at a baby shower this past weekend.  Then I saw this yesterday and it just reaffirmed my love for it.  So pretty, simple, and yes…affordable!  Su-per affordable.

And they don’t have to match!

I love!

Happy Friday!

I’ve been meaning to share this picture from Erin of Dandelion & Grey.   She does styling & design and I just love her taste!  I met her at one of the networking events sometime in the beginning of this year and she’s such a lovely lady!  This picture was actually of her wedding photographed by Heather Gilson of One Love Photo.

Have a great weekend!  I sure am!  Anyone going to Unveiled?  If you are, flag me down!  I’m also attending a super HAWT shoot this Sunday for one of my couples; more of that to come!

Gentle Cheerfulness!

Last year I saw many weddings go yellow.  This year Im starting to see more yellow!  Don’t get me wrong, I love this color because you can build a pallette around many other colors.  Yellow and blue (go UCLA!), yellow and hot pink, yellow and black, etc…  Endless possibilities!  I read somewhere that yellow is gentle, cheerful, and sensual.  It really is!

In May, one of our couples want yellow ranunculus and that’s it!

If you place them in a skinny vase tightly they look gorgeous!  Place them loosely and you’ll need a filler.  Can’t wait!

Thriftin’ Around…

I’ve always loved going to the flea markets here in Los Angeles.  There’s some in Long Beach, Pasadena, and other places that offer lots of vintage finds.  I have to say though sometimes there are vendors that overprice items in the name of “vintage”.  Well fret no more because I just recently discovered a huge thrift store that I drive by almost every single day!  Once I went in to look for milk glass and vintage books, I was hooked and couldn’t believe how much I’ve been missing out.

I went back yesterday to complete a collection I’m using for a bride that’s renewing her vows in two weeks!  Amazing deals!  We couldn’t find enough milk glass vases so we’re going with some clear vases for some very simple centerpieces.

So excited about this place, PLUS they told us they get in stuff everyday!  Wanna know where it’s at?  Shoot me an email!

I also used some of the finds at the Sweet Treat Table for the Backstage Bridal event this past last Sunday.  I’ll definitely put up some pictures once I get them.

Happy thrifting everyone!  Tomorrow we’ll be blogging on this brand new foundation that is making great things happen for couples everywhere in the US!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  Happy weekend!  Happy hearts!  I’m so happy to blog about Wish Upon a Wedding!

Here’s a recap of what they’re about straight from their website.

America’s only wedding wish granting organization, Wish Upon a Wedding produces weddings & civil union ceremonies at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness.
By celebrating the courage & spirit of these couples, it is our hope that others facing similar situations will find hope, strength, and the promise of eternal love.
Officially launched in January of 2010, Wish Upon a Wedding currently has five chapters to serve Wish Applicants. Beginning February 14, couples residing in or wishing to get married within 300 miles of the following cities are eligible to apply for weddings: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando, New York and Chicago. If you reside in another area, we still encourage you to stay connected as New Chapters open regularly.
We are rallying our team of Wish Granters across the United States! If you would like to be a part of our Wish Granting Team {or know someone who would} please submit a Wish Granter application.

I’ve already submitted our application and am excited at the opportunity of working with one of the well-deserved couples!

Their first couple is Florence and Michael from Elk Grove, CA.  Read their story here.  It’s pretty amazing what we can do to help some beautiful people and make some happy hearts!

AS IF!

As if I don’t already LOVE Amy Michelson gowns, the beautiful gowns were shot by the amazing Kristi Klemens of KLK Photography!  I thought I MUST share!

These last two make me swooooon!
