Vintage Hotness at Last Minute Bride!

This weekend went by fast because we were super busy!  I haven’t even had my Saturday yet and it’s definitely not today either.
Here’s a sneak peak at the fabulous mini shoot we had at the Last Minute Bride event we had at The Wedding Pantry and the McCharles House this past weekend!

You can see a sneak peak of the amazing flowers by Pixie’s Petals in the back.  The vintage dress is Better than Naked’s and the birdcage is a Tessa Kim piece.

Want to see more?  I’ll update you when we have more pics over at Last Minute Bride!

Shoe Bling!

One of my brides who’s getting married in October, very soon (!), emailed me and said:
“Since I know you’re a shoe lover, here’s a picture of my shoes for the big day!”

Can’t wait to see them on with her Vera gown!

Last Minute Bride Mini Shoot!

So our event has come and gone and I must say Smita of Smita Photo is a pretty fantastic photographer!  Just look at what she captured!  Thank you Smita!

Stacey of Better than Naked found these great vintage gowns only days before the event at a price you won’t believe!  Not only was the price a steal but they were seriously beautiful!

The amazing bouquets were provided by Leslie of Pixie’s Petals of Long Beach and the birdcages were from Tessa Kim.  The makeup made these already beautiful girls look like starlets thanks to Lisa of Elements of Artistry!  Oh and let’s not forget those handmade fabric garlands from Hank and Hunt!  Those garlands definitely added an organic touch to the already fabulous venue.  It’s our secret gem of a venue but I guess I can divulge.  Vivian of the McCharles’ House in Old Town Tustin was so great to us!  You have to see this place, it’s pretty incredible and picture perfect!

These models were fierce yo!  Thanks Melanie and Nicole!  We’re giving away an engagement shoot over at Last Minute Bride to one of the brides to be who came by and entered the giveaway.  Psyched to style that sesh!  I’ll promise to keep you posted!

Happy Friday!

So you guys want to know a secret?  I went to UCLA to get my psych and Spanish literature degree and my full time job at that time was a behavior therapist.  I worked with special needs children and I LOVED it.  I especially fell in love with this one little girl who I worked with over 3 years.  She moved to Chicago and I miss her til this day!  One of her AND mine favorite things to do was:

I know, that had nothing to do with this engagement session, but this brings a smile to my face.  Not only are they blowing bubbles but the colors in this shot are crazy awesome!  Love it!  Sometime soon I’ll be sharing a full e-sesh by the talented Sherri of Sherri J Photography.  Yay!  Thanks Sherri!  Have a grrrreat weekend!

Bouquet Beauties

I love when a bride chooses a bouquet with substance!  Peonies, dahlias…yum!  These are some of my favorite!

Excited to work with Meg in October! Oh and these bouquets for flower girls are so adorable!

Awesome Wedding!

We had one of the cutest weddings this weekend.  Here’s a couple of iPhone teasers!

Oh and the ceremony was definitely one of the most unique!  From the set-up of the chairs to the readings by friends…it was awesome!  No lie!

Can’t wait to share more!  Things to look out for: the drink station and the welcome table!  There were gorg!  To top it off they had the Kogi truck come out and Cool Haus.  The guests had a huge smile when Cool Haus rolled in and yeah I did too!

Cake Beauties!

Like no other!  Seriously, when I came across Lori Hutchinson of The Caketress, I nearly went through her whole blog in one sitting!  I started writing this post a couple weeks ago and I schedule it for today but I totally had to update with spankin’ new cakes that I absolutely adored!

If her work doesn’t blow you away, I don’t know what does!

The details are my favorite and her style is so clean!

Too bad she’s in Canada! 🙁

Do you love her work as much as I do!?

Another Teal Lovin’ Post!

Yes, another post devoted to teal/turquoise/aqua goodness!  I just LOVE this color!  I found a bunch of gorgeous ways to add this color to your wedding whether it be on you or on your wedding scheme.
Let’s go!
A beautiful turquoise headband for your or your brides via Louis Mariette.  I know it’s a little pricey but if you can afford it, hey!
A gift for your bridesmaids?

Even your centerpieces.  If you’ve kept up, this particular scheme has been after my own heart lately.

So many, many ways to incorporate this color!

Planning Tips: Guest List

So I asked my husband what the hardest part of planning was for him, although I took care of most, and he answered: “Turning family away that couldn’t attend.”  I must say this was the same deal for me, but we just had to keep the guest list short!  If you don’t set rules, get ready for a massive guest list.

I found this and thought it might be helpful and funny.

Most couples nowadays are paying for their own wedding and if that’s the case, you’re going to have to spend a lot of hard earned money!  When we started drafting up our guest list, I kept reminding both of us:

  • Who has been there for us?
  • Whose still around?
  • Who WILL be there 10 years from now?

Friends come and go, but family is blood.   YET, even if they’re family, there are some that you haven’t spoken to in years and will most likely not ever unless it’s for a the big family reunion.  We kept it down to 75 and that was a HUGE task!  I always recommend having a master list and keep a secondary list “B” to add to in case guests from list “A” cannot attend.

Also, I know it’s exciting to get engaged but don’t spread the word like crazy if you’re not inviting said people.  Tell your parents to keep it”on the low” as well and remember that your vendors count as guests too!

How many guests are you having at your wedding?
