First come, first serve too, so set your alarms!

2010 Best Details

According to Brides.com, there are 10 best 2010 wedding style details on their website.  Here are the ones we agree with!

1. Vintage brooch bouquets

Via Ms. Awesome – tutorial included!
2, Handmade and crafty!
3.  Unique escort cards

4. Handmade paper decor

Obviously we agree with the handmade love since we love personalized details but are we still going to see these trends in 2011?

I would definitely add:

  • modern/urban venues
  • not candy, but dessert buffets
  • food/dessert midnight snacks, maybe a midnight In n’ Out truck visit?  Nom!
  • modern/short gowns

What else would you add?  Do you still expect to see these trends in 2011?

P.S.  We’ve been also wanting to do a little 2010 collage of our weddings but we’re still missing two weddings.  Can’t wait to share that with you!

Making your Guest List and Selecting your Venue

So now, you’re engaged, you’ve got your budget – what next?  The number of guests you’d like to invite to your special day is something you’ve either already had in mind already and agree about or something you need to hash out together.  Your budget should also point you in the right direction as to how many guests you may be able to have.

A smaller wedding means saving money and it’s usually about 50-80 guests.  Up to 150, I consider it a medium sized wedding and over 200, that’s a large guest list!  Once you start writing your guest list, it doesn’t have to be final.  You can have a master guest list and a B-list.  You’ll use the B-list when guests from the master list can’t attend your wedding.  If your parents are helping out, usually they’re entitled to a list of their own, so keep that in mind too!  Oh, and don’t forget to your count your vendors too.  They need to eat too!
So you all this info and now it’s time to select the venue.  Exciting!

For the venue, I find lots of couples already have envisioned what they want.  If you have no clue, your budget and guest count is a good way to start!  Do you want your ceremony and reception at the same place or no?  Also, keep in mind that your venue will be one of your biggest expenses.  To narrow down which venue will eventually be the one, you need to ask yourself a list of questions from hidden costs to catering needs.  If you want that list or if you need help, contact us and we can help you.  Our email is info {at} justwenderful {dot} com.

Hello Yello{w}!

We made this inspiration board for a couple from last year and thought we’d share!  We did the florals for this wedding back in April when ranunculus where exiting the flower market scene.  We missed them by days!

I was reminded about this wedding because I just found out that the bride is going to be a momma this year!  Second bride from last year that is now pregnant.  Happy news and congrats A + D!

Happy Monday!

To continue with the engagement season love, we are so happy to share this fabulous image from our good friends at Luminaire Images.

They shot this proposal in Disneyland and had an engagement session afterward.  What a sweet idea!

Congratulations Trevor and Angela!  I also found out later on that a really good friend, who also just got engaged to his fiance Catherine know Trevor and Angela!  Small world!  So congratulations to you too Chris and Catherine!

Just Engaged!

Like I mentioned in a previous post, there were so many news of engagements over the holidays that we decided to write about it!  So you get one of these:

Either your prince charming asked you or you switched it up and asked him yourself, you’re engaged!  I think the first thing that crosses your mind is telling everyone!  I know I couldn’t wait to tell the most important people in our lives like our moms and immediate family and friends.  After everyone knows the great news, what’s next?

The most important thing to do whether you envision your wedding in 3 months or in 2 years, is to sit down and figure out a realistic budget.

Start off with your ultimate number and if you’re good at breaking numbers and doing the rest of the breakdown, hats off to you!  If not, a wedding planner {ahem,us!} can take care of it from you.  This is the first step!  After that, it’ll be easier to narrow down what you can afford starting with…the beautiful venue!

More on selecting a venue next week!  I’ll be tagging these posts under planning tips so you can easily find them there!
