Happy Friday!

What can possibly be happier than 6 year old girls and cookies? This was Wendy’s favorite shot from my daughter Chloe’s 6th birthday party…more pics to come next week! Have a safe & fun Independence Day everyone!

Enchanted Tea Party

As promised, here’s a look at Chloe’s lovely 6th Birthday Tea Party. We kept things simple and held the party at home, but spruced things up with bright florals, vintage teacups, and handmade doilies.

My milk glass collection was put to good use in displaying these wonderfully colorful bunches including green trick, hydrangea, and gerbera. The dessert table included tons of yummy treats for the kids, including cake pops, madeleine cookies & petite lemon cakes. Unfortunately for me, the kids had devoured most of the treats by the time I got the chance to get a shot of it!Vintage teapots were also displayed all over the house and filled with iced tea & juice for the little ones. The BEAUTIFUL cake was made by the one and only, Melinda of CakeGoodness. Seriously, it was almost too pretty to eat!

See Something New?

It’s up, it’s finally done and up!  We are so happy to have our new website up and running!  Take a peek!

Seriously, you have to go the actual site HERE and tell me what you think!  …AND because we want to party and celebrate we’re holding a giveaway!  All you have to do is leave a comment here telling us your greatest accomplishment this year, thus far.  It’s open to everyone from fellow industry people to actual brides but I think brides-to-be will go nuts over the prize.

*cue the drums*

It’s the CHERISH with milagro heart from Paloma’s Nest!  So comment away!  Deadline will be set to July 22nd so we can have a winner the 23th, my anniversary weekend!  Hoo-ray, time flies!

Peonies are IN!

I had a love/hate relationship with ranunculus because they were everywhere for about 3 months earlier this year and 2 weeks before a wedding in May, they were pretty much gone!  I did find some but no yellow at all so we had to switch to another flower!  My wholesale guy failed to tell me on time but I understand because crops are sometimes unpredictable.
Now the flower that’s around and in abundance is the peony.  So soft, full, and romantic!

One of my couples is going to have them in her bouquet this August and I’m so excited!

From a soft pink:

to some bright pretties!

I kind of went overboard on my peony search but look what I found!

And these:

Even my new branding has a flower that looks like a peony!  New obsession?  Maybe.  But isn’t lovely?

What’s the flower you’re loving right now?

Engagement Session – Liz + Paul

Remember that hot teaser?  Here are the rest!

This sporty couple start with an awesome game of one-on-one!

They met in high school but they ended up falling in love waaaay after.  Funny how things work!

And I think this is one my favorites!

Kevin Le Vu really did an amazing job and really captured the essence of this couple.  And I’m not just sayin’…their wedding is next month and I’m so excited to help make their special day SPECIAL.  Can’t wait!

Thanks for sharing once again Liz + Paul!

Happy Friday!

I know…our Happy Friday photo pick is usually something delightfully romantic, but I decided to switch it up a little this week. I’ve been searching through my countless flash drives for photos from the trip that Wendy & I took to Europe many, many years ago. So here you go, one of my very best besties and I, circa 2003.

La Seine, Paris

Spanish Pyrenees

Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Catedral de Santiago de Compostela

Definitely, the best summer of my life thus far. Seriously, how often does one get to hang out on the roof of a thousand year old cathedral and sleep in haunted monasteries? We became great friends that summer and our bond has continued to grow ever since 🙂

Flowers, Ruffles & Bows…Oh My!

Lately I’ve been really crushing on Badgley Mischka heels. They are so incredibly classy & feminine. I think these babies will look great if you’re going for the more traditional, lighter hue.

Hope you love ’em as much as I do!

Engagement Session – Jean + Jay

I feel so lucky to have these awesome couples that love to share their eye candy with me!  Meet Jean & Jay!

When I first saw a teaser, my jaw dropped.  I shouldn’t have been surprised because the photographers…well, this is what they do…

Drop jaws!

But wait, look at this light!  *cue the angels, or trumpets, or…whatever’s your preference!  This one makes me smile too!

And Jean, I know you’re going to see this, so let me tell you here: You look so beautiful here!  I can’t wait to see you all made up in your dress! {a Vera, I might add!}

*Le sigh* These incredible photogs are the one and only The Image is Found

Thanks Jean + Jay!

Vendor Love – SnapKnot

So what’s SnapKnot about?  Here’s a little on them straight from their site:

SnapKnot helps you find your perfect wedding photographer

SnapKnot couldn’t be easier. Just select where and how much and we’ll show you relevant wedding photographers. Save your favorite wedding photographers for later review or to share with friends.

I actually think this is a great idea for the brides that haven’t yet fallen in love with the blogosphere and don’t know where to start.  Most of my couples already have their heart set on someone, but if you don’t know who you really want and /or your photog is out of your budget, this is an easy alternative on comparing photographers’ portfolios.

Here’s a bit more:

We empower couples to make their choice based on search criteria and side-by-side comparison to your competitors, which means only qualified leads will contact you. Spend less time trying to win new clients and focus on what you do best
– wedding photography.

Definitely worth a sneak!  Yes or no?

Happy Friday!

I was so completely smitten with the color & vintage feel of this photo that I just knew I had to share it with you all. I almost couldn’t believe it was a recent shot & a real wedding! Siara Whitman of The Photo Bliss has definitely got an eye for capturing that perfect shot.

Thanks Siara for letting me share this gorgeous photo!
